@BanimooO personal defense and defense of family... but that isn't mandatory, you don't need to, but you act so ignorant of guns, pakistani primary school? what is wrong with you? First you don't know the current state of affairs in that country, I don't even believe you can legally get guns there as a citizen. Second have you ever shot a gun? Or have been brainwashed in to thinking any citizen with a gun is bad man... and if they kill someone trying to kill them, they're a bad man...

@OperationJanus look at switzerland, each family is required to have a loaded gun in their house. everyone is required to go through minor military training and then required to take home their issued weapon along with 24 round of ammunition. the crime rate in switzerland is very low and the amount of gun related crimes is basically nothing

@kc8mtv In my country wich is scotland IT is easy to get a gun But hard for gun training but We all know how to SHOOT

@thekittykatkid642 people who grow up around guns like this are usually the safest with them than a person who's never held a gun obviously

@Wicked7mm yeah, im 16 so thats a problem
My 6 yr old is about to turn 9 yrs old, he has been learning gun safety for 3 years now. He has progressed very well at the range and outdoors.
In a home where guns are kept, the degree of safety a child has rests squarely on the child's parents.
Parents who accept the responsibility to learn, practice and teach gun safety rules will ensure their child's safety to a much greater extent than those who do not.

You people please, this is completely responsible, this is the safest environment...
If EVERYBODY was drinking, and they were out in the woods... Then that would be responsible..
Guess what? That happens EVERYDAY..
I'd say this guy is a good parent.

Thanks for the comments people, both positive and negative. I suppose it's the way you are raised by your parent(s). You either learn to fear them or you learn to respect them and handle them safely. A firearm is a tool, my boys have learned from a young age that a gun is a tool used for hunting and defense. They know that it kills and they have learned and are still learning how to use a weapon properly and safely.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Your teaching them a gun is for safety? What you want them to be in gangs or somthing cause if your teaching them guns are or safety against people then thats where there going, bad parenting..........

As a young child I grew up being taught to use a .22 rifle not for killing people, but that it was used for hunting. I agree with you, guns should NEVER be "taught" as only being used for killing people. My kids are being taught that a gun is used for hunting, a tool, just like a fishing pole is used for fishing, they also know that it can kill people, thus safety. Being a family that was a victim of a serious crime, they also know that a gun can be used for self defense if necessary.
