Working on a digital boost gauge for an Audi A4 (8bit AVR). Features to be included are boost/vac, AFR, EGT, boost controller, and WMI controller. The red on black displays match the dashboard and radio displays perfectly.

You need a background in electronics and programming before attempting such a project. It's not something you can just order parts for, solder together, and stick in your car. If you do have that background, it's a standard HD44780U LCD, Atmel AVR, reading signal from an OEM MAP.

  • @ndnihil Great. Nice challenge you're proposing yourself to. You should teach us how to make a simple one, just for pressure. That would be awesome!

Yep, worked great. Though I've since gotten a vent-gauge and am rebuilding the device to switch between displaying lambda/EGT/IAT/WMI duty cycle, and song/track information from the carputer.

  • Is that done? I'm interested on making a digital turbo gauge like that one to my ibiza. Tell me you had that thing working :)
