@SuperJohnnykay This is a short version of the aria; coloratura usually comes in the latter part of the longer version. The ‘pop girls’ sing this because it is a popular song. Haendel would have heard lots of people singing this outside of opera. It was the pop music of his day.

Looks like we have all the usual cloth eared experts that know it all again, music is not a competition it is something to be enjoyed, and 88 dislikes out of nearly half a million is no mean feat. To be respected by "real" musicians says all there is to know.
