  • Of course it is a lot of work and it was nice of you to invest it. I am not criticizing you, but the musicians. The pieces deserve a much more subtle approach and a far better recording, that's all.

  • @casalQuartett Well, maybe you should record it and show me how to play these pieces. Let me know when you are ready. I will listen (but not compare........)

  • Grumiaux isn't god himself and therefore not immune to error. He was an excellent player, no doubt, but at Mozart's time vibrato was an ORNAMENT not a condition. This is a fact and can be learned from Leopold Mozart's violin school. Between the war and before Harnoncourt, Gardiner and others Bach and Mozart often sounded tame, boring, slow and sweet as sugar candy. If every note gets an accent and has only vertical phrasing within a fugue there is no transparency and nothing to learn from...

  • @casalQuartett Why can't you just enjoy the fact that I up-loaded it with score, and spend time and effort on this video and thousands more so people can enjoy splendid music, instead of criticizing it. Thank you!! I up-load out of love for music not for the sake of an argument.

  • How can they ruin this music by playing sooooo romantic and every note with vibrato??

  • @casalQuartett Ruin it? You are critical of Arthur Grumiaux and his trio? Wow! Music performance is a matter of interpretation and technique. Those are unjudgable when excellence is reached. Just enjoy the merits of this performance and keep learning.

  • Fugue would sound better if played slightly slower and more legato....

  • @karter76 Click on the "show more" tab and you will see all the info.

  • @karter76 Yes. This is Mozart's transcription of a few Bach fugues. I believe the preludes are original.

  • @karter76 I just noticed that too.

  • is it my impression or the fugue is from BWV 853?
