  • Che voce leggendaria. Grandissimo Ramey.

  • I agree. An American treasure. We will not see his like again in our lifetimes.

  • Le meilleur Zaccaria de tous les temps !!! (suite)

  • The conductor is Gerard Schwartz.

  • I heard him sing this role in Nabucco at the Met. He was amazing.

  • DIVINE Ramey, to my ears the most beautifull basso voice ever!

(Consider that I'm a huge fan of Furlanetto, genial!; Guiaurov (wow!) and Pavel Lisitsian (a phenomenon!), a dream trio)...

    And yet..Ramey SHINES!

  • @lamsalgado The seamlessness of the voice knocks me out, too. I always think there has to be a break in the voice somewhere, that nobody can blend the registers that well, but Ramey can!

  • @Onegin65 Thanks Onegin for this upload of divine Ramey ! Bravissimi !

  • This is absolutely wonderful like all of Onegin65's postings. Does Mr. Ramey sing much these days? I last saw him in the Met's 2009 production of Puccini's La Rondine. His voice then was a mere shadow of that heard in this magnificant aria. Opera lovers who love this piece will surely enjoy Mr. Ramey's rendition of Lord Sydney's hymn in Rossini's Il Viaggio a Reims also posted on You-tube.

  • He is a Basso with fantastic upper register. What amazes me, besides the incredible beauty of his voice and singing is how his register is seamless! Yes, he is a living legend! One those voices once in an century !
