NEXT DAY
*Kevin's POV
Today was just any other ordinary day. Well...any other ordinary day that we ever have off. Nick working on more songs, Joe doing...whatever Joe does, and me playing chess, against myself. I need practice if I ever wanna beat Nick! Then my phone beeped. I looked at the ID. "Dad". I pressed answer.
"Hello?"
Dad: Kevin! I have terrfiic news!
"What?"
Dad: We found you guys an opening act!
"Another?"
Dad: Yes, I found a group that can go after Honor Society with about a whole album of songs and some new songs! And they can sing songs with you guys during your act too!
"Seriously!? Who!?"
Dad: You may not have heard of them...but they were on TV performing the other night, their Constellation Kiss.
"I've heard of them! Their said to be one of the hottest new acts around right now! How'd you do it?!" This is so cool! I've heard their music before, their songs rock! I happened to catch their performance, their great live too! Gotta give you props, pops.
Dad: Barry called me and said he was on the phone with them, he informed them we were looking for an opening act and they said they'd be happy to do it and when I talked to them we settled the deal. You're meeting them tonight, at Eagle Diner, at 6. So LOOK NICE. And bring Stella! Tour begins in a month, June 19th. Baltimore. Midnight.
"You got it, Dad."
Dad: Bye, son.
"Bye."
Nick: What was that about?
I ignored his comment and dialed Stella's number quickly. She answered after like 3 rings.
Stella: Hello?
"STELLA! Be at our house at 5:30. LOOK DECENT. We have big plans."
Stella: Why? What are they?
"I'll explain when you get here. Just be ready. See you then."
Stella: Alright, bye.
"Bye, Stella."
I hung up. "GUYS GUESS WHAT!"
Joe: What?
"Dad got us on tour with one of the hottest acts around."
Nick: STEVIE WONDER!?
Joe: CELINE DION!?
Me and Nick gave him a wierd look...Celine Dion?
Joe: WHAT? She's good.
"No, not Celine Dion. It's Constellation Kiss."
Nick: Sweet!
Joe: Awesome! When does tour start?"
"June 19th. A midnight concert in Baltimore. We've got about a month to prepare."
Joe: YES! This is gonna be AWESOME.
Nick: Only a MONTH? When are we meeting them? When are we gonna rehearse? How are we POSSIBLY gonna get all the planning and everything DONE?
He makes a sad but strong point...
"Nick, don't be a negative Nelly! Gosh."
Nick: I'm not TRYING to be, but we have to get our collab songs prepared, set up what we want the stage to look like, get lighting and everything settled, not to mention help them get the stage set up how they need it for their act.
Joe: Nick, Nick, Nick, Nick. You must be forgetting our meeting with Honor Soceity a month back. Remember? We set up everything for them, most of our lighting and setup, and both song lineups. We really only need to touch up a couple of things and help out Constellation Kiss.
"JOE! YOU SAID SOMETHING...SMART! See, Nick! We'll be FINE!"
Nick: True...I still think it's kind of pushing it.
Joe: I'm sure it'll all be good. We're gonna meet 'em tonight, and probably settle a bunch of stuff then too.
Nick: Okay. I guess your right.
"For once, he is."
Joe: Hey!
Okay, so we have a month...kind of cutting it close...but I think we can do it. Unless their procrastinators...that would be a problem. What if their workaholics though? That's also bad...why am I getting like this? I need to clam down. I looked at the clock. 3. We've still got 3 hrs about. How to pass the time..."Hey, Guys..."
Nick: Yeah?
"Why don't we finish up our tour plans now, then we'll discuss like...wardrobe with Stella when she gets here, and we'll help out Constellation Kiss at the restaurant?"
Joe: Kevin! You're brilliant!
Nick: When is it my turn to say something smart? I'm not used to this!
"Don't worry little bro, your time will come." I got out our big tour notebook and I went to the page where we left off. We got song lineup, stage design, and more than half of our lighting design done! We just need to finish that up and work on wardrobe and we can send out notes and designing to the stage crew!
We worked for about two hours deciding on where the spots would be, what songs we'd use them and strobe lights during, what color the lights would be for different songs, and the big ending scene with Burning Up. I can't believe we got that much done. I looked up at the clock again. 5. Dad told us to look nice so we went up and got ready.
