NATO Unpopular in Ukraine

Ukrainian leaders are requesting participation in NATO's Membership Action Plan, the first step a country takes to prepare to join the alliance. The move has increased tensions between Kyiv and Moscow.
VOA Correspondent Peter Fedynsky reports the tensions may be premature because a majority of Ukrainians oppose NATO membership, and the country does not yet meet alliance standards.

nato is just trick, part of the game. thanks God, yuschenko will become history in the next election. atleast tymoshenko is more flexible. i wonder why the americans are silent about their pet project in ukraine nowadays. maybe because afterall their little advises and shenanigans, ukraine's economy is worst than russia's in the ongoing financial crisis.
