This animated video clip has been produced by OPM (the Office for Public Management) to raise awareness of the corrosive impact of persistent harassment experienced by many disabled people. The audio account is of actual victims of such experiences, with animation used to help convey the complex emotional impact of the account while protecting the anonymity of the interviewees. 'Susie' and 'Charlie' are not their real names.
We have produced this clip to raise awareness, but we acknowledge that it may not be fully accessible to all (e.g. it does not have BSL). We are committed to changing attitudes and improving practice, and we welcome suggestions for how we may be able to use this clip more effectively.
The inspiration for this clip derives from our research on targeted violence and hostility towards disabled people (sometimes called 'hate crime'). The full research report is available at www.opm.co.uk. For further information or suggestions, please contact Chih Hoong Sin at csin@opm.co.uk.
