Suomi, Finland Had We Not Fought

For Finland forever!

Finland gained independence from Russia on 6 December 1917 when the Finnish Declaration of Independence was signed changing its status from an autonomous Russian Grand Duchy to an independent sovereign nation state. Independence Day is a national holiday and is marked by a series of celebrations which take place throughout the country and particularly in the bigger towns and cities. Traditionally, events used to be quite a sombre affair when candles would be lit and placed in windows to symbolise the light of freedom. Nowadays celebrations are a bit more lively with parades, music concerts and some festivals.

A special HONOUR to the Finnish war veterans, who fought to preserve Finland's independence in 1939- 1945 against the Soviet Union and "Germany"!

though I would defend Finland to death even if I didn't have those ancestors who were once buried with military honors during the WWII (heck, AT LEAST one of them is STILL resting in a graveyard that is now located in Russia), hopefully there'll never be the need to call the General mobilisation again, last time my paternal grandfather lost his father couple of months after Tauno had been called to what was then called 'additional war exercise (effectively General mobilisation).'

@MikeyMcCrashCap rest assured, we who still live in Finland will give this country to attackers one bullet at a time, many say they'll flee to Sweden the second the General mobilisation is called, but I bet that most of them would dutifully follow the order to report in for active service when the order is given, I pretty much have no other choise since two generations of my Karelian ancestors are now resting pretty close to our border with Russia, and many of them were buried in 1939-1945.

@Skalmans750 hate to say but we never share same blood and do you know why? our dna has sisu and swedish dna has thing let someone else kick ruskies ass when we stand by and watch.no offence but here is no place to people like you who talks us Finns like we are some fucking peasants. i know swedish people and gotta say that now you make them look really bad. what you should say is thank you Finnish people from keeping ruskiebear out of sweden and we are in deep dept to you.
