We run this play against a man-to-man defense. It works especially well against an aggressive man defense and if you're team is quick and undersized.

  • awesome play! this is my first year coaching solo so Im really excited to use this inmy play make ups, in past years I have been the asst coach and not reasponcible for as much play development. thanks for the great advice! keep it up!

  • Hey kimyz,

Thanks for the comment. Hope you have fun coaching and wish the the best of success with everything you run!

  • is it possible to make 23 setplay not a success if my opponent is using 23 setplay? any tips? tq very much!

  • Hey Farmville,

We actually run two different variations of this play. One (which is in the video) with a guard-to-wing entry, and the other with a guard-to-high post entry. I teach the second variation after my team is comfortable with this initial play. Generally speaking, whenever a team takes away something defensively, they usually give something else up. In this case, It's almost always a backdoor pass or a if they're cheating under the high post screens, you'll have some open shots!

  • Great series of plays against the various defensive sets. Do you have an offensive play against a 1-3-1 defense? Your triangle with some adjustments may also do the trick.

  • Yeah, we use that offense against a 1-3-1 but make some adjustments with our high and low posts. We still have a 2 guard top and a shooter on one side in the corner.

  • I love these videos. I wish you would make more.

  • nice video coach!!

  • Any ideas of any varations for the "5" in this offense? We call it fuzzbuster because it picks the fuzz off the cutters, but the 5 does not get a lot of movement/opportunity. I have a big man who can also move well, so tjoughts are appreciated.

  • Hey i'm a twelve year old center..My team plays the passing game..can you please make a video of the passing game with some tricks so i can better undetstand it??PLEASE!!

  • good play, i've actually seen this before and used it in games, i prefer a direct screen on nr 2 after the backflip, it's like option 4(i think) except more quick and it will catch the offense offguard if the screener gets a screen. the spanish national team use this and it's called Cross. (there a cross when 1 and 2 cuts the first cuts)

  • I have run this play for several years, (slightly varied) and rarely, if ever, has one of the options not been open. I do have a question. If a team is playing a sluff man to man and switching on everything it usually bogs this play down. Any suggestions on countering this?

  • love this one coach ! thanks

  • good play

  • I love your videos. Very well done and illustrated. I like how you do it slow and then fast. I would love to see more.

Thanks and keep up the good work..

  • hey, thx for that very well structured and explained vid.

as i want to change my teams "style" from pure improvisation to something like a coordinated play, i was looking for some help to achieve this.

thx to your vids i feel more confident about my teams future!
