Pine will burn like the dickens (whatever dickens are). It can also coat your chimney with pine ressin and cause a chimney fire.

  • @netofgems Is softwood construction timber offcuts ok on a wood stove, is this classed as 'seasond'?

  • soft wood burns hotter than hardwood

  • Hardwoods can create just as much creosote, or more, in a chimney, than pine!! The key, as it always is, is to make sure your wood is PROPERLY SEASONED and your stove is OPERATED PROPERLY!!
