Sailing my Frances 26 cutter "Tumbleweed" on a beautiful fall day on Chautauqua Lake, NY with my friend Dave H. at the helm. 15-20 knot beam reach. Inner forestay and staysail not rigged.

  • She's fast for a 26 footer. I do love Chuck Paine designed boats. Was a gaff-rigged Frances a few slips away from me sold recently. If it was just me I'd sail around the world on one of these, by my wife likes a little more space... Victoria 34 would be nice (another of Chuck's) but out of our price range.

I wish we got wind like that without the waves, English Channel gets choppy in winds like that.

    Nice vid, please post more.

  • Looks Good Doug. Glad to see more chautauqua lake videos. This is Shawn From Ready About.
