A documentary on roots reggae music and the rasta movement in Jamaica. This is a promo piece for what will be a definitive, comprehensive, and highly thorough feature documentary.
Production resumed in 2008 after an 8 year hiatus.
This film is scheduled to hit the festival circuit in 2009 and possible limited theatrical release later that year. The film should be available on DVD sometime in 2010.
So far we have in depth interviews with the following artists:
Joseph Culture Hill
Israel Vibration
The Congos
Familyman Barrett
Winston Jarrett
Uroy
Pablo Moses
Ijahman Levi
Winston Macanuff
Brother Samuel of the Mystic Revelation of Rastafari
Leroy "Horsemouth" Wallace
Country Man
Abba Melchezedek
Prince Allah
Daniel Campbell
Rocky Allen Bailey
Sugar Minott
And many more...

I see, that seems strange but fair play to them... Well, your film seems like its going to be something of a spectacle anyway. Keep up works like this.
I would love to be a part of such a production, it must have been incredible to interview such characters and visit such places.

I was told it is "Rasta Want Peace" by The Ravers. The track was never released as far as I know.

Here are a few artists i think you should consider interviewing:
Bill Laswell
Alpha & Omega
Bunny Wailer
Jah Shaka
Kultiration
Dan I (Imperial Sound Army)
Scientist
I am really looking forward in anticipation 2 this documentary :) it is needed and the timing is perfect.
Of course if they do hold sunsplash again I will watch it there!

There are even more artists than what you have listed that I would love to include but because of time and money production is limited. Also, at this point the film is pretty much finished. Just a few titles and subtitles to add.
We spoke with Bunny Wailer several times about having him be a part of the film, same with Burning Spear, and for what ever reason they chose not to.

That's Joseph Hill from Culture. Unfortunately he is no longer with us. He was amazing person. Hopefully at some point we can release his entire interview. It's a great one.
