The Elixir of Love tells the story of a magic love potion and the destiny of a love triangle involving a lovable bumpkin, a dashing sergeant and the bewitching town flirt. Filled with light-hearted charm and bursting with feel-good laughs, The Elixir of Love features effervescent Italian melodies and plenty of bel canto vocal fireworks.
James Conlon conducts Giuseppe Filianoti as the lovestruck Nemorino, Georgian soprano Nino Machaidze in her first U.S. appearance, Nathan Gunn as the handsome soldier Belcore and italian baritone Giorgio Caoduro in the comic role of Doctor Dulcamara.
@fedelesempre1 Not to impugn Ms. Machaidze or her artistry, which from all evidence is significant and worthy of praise, but I wouldn't get too excited about a standing ovation from an American audience. Americans will give you a standing ovation just for turning up.
