RCT3 - The Mine of Lost Souls

My second big RCT3 project I've managed to see through to completion! Took me long enough!

Anyway, this is a short dark ride loosely based (both in theme and in track layout) on the Mine of Lost Souls ride at Canobie Lake Park, in Salem NH - which, ironically, I have never been to. I've definitely taken some liberties with the original source material, so this is my own spin on a similar theme of a haunted mine. There was a lot of trial and error in the making of this video, but I think it turned out fairly well!

A big shout out to all the CS-creators that made this possible, particularly shyguy for his Rock set that makes up the mine, Wagi for his GhostMine set, and Vodhin just for the excellent mine lamps! And, of course, thank YOU for watching! Any feedback is appreciated!

THE LEGEND:

In 1881, two boys traveling west with their family, Bobby and Billy Hollander, accidentally discovered a cavern in Steerskull Ridge when they got separated from their folks. They found silver in the cave, but also came across something so terrifying that ran away in cold terror and never spoke of their discovery to anyone.

However, in 1891 the brothers came back to the cave and, ignoring their childhood fears, struck it rich mining the silver ore. The Policy Mining Co. was founded that summer, and the new mine soon became famous for its vast riches.

But soon strange things began to happen: phantom lights, weird shadows, odd sounds and unexpected accidents. Cave-ins and botched dynamite blasts plagued the mine. Rumor began to spread that some manner of curse had been placed on the mine. And when the Hollander brothers themselves suddenly disappeared in 1895, never to be seen or heard from again, that was the final straw. Soon the mine was abandoned, another dusty relic of the old West.

According to local legend, there are hidden passages in the mine, leading to ancient burial chambers sealed off for centuries; dark spirits that had once been undisturbed were set free by the mining operation. They say too that many an unlucky miner is now a lonesome ghost, doomed to haunt the mine. What fell power holds sway in these dank tunnels?

Enter if you dare, but beware...Venture too far, and you just might become the next lost soul!
