So true!
-
jeez Dibase was great,,he sells awesome and is truly overlooked when they talk about technical wrestlers, he easily can hold his own with anyone
-
@rizzorizzodude It was PS. Besides working as a wrestler for the UWF he also worked as JR's color man.
-
@Sargebri Cool. Thanks for the info. HTM seems like a really cool dude in his shoot interviews complaining about Hogan etc refusing to job other wrestlers.
-
@MickeyLynott Honky refused to do the job to Savage and to keep Savage happy they put the WWE championship belt on him rather than going with the original plan of putting the WWE belt on DiBiase.
-
@Sargebri What did Honky Tonk Man do to f*ck up the DiBiase champ plan?
-
@MickeyLynott I heard it on a web ste. They always talk about the fact that DiBiase was screwed out of getting the belt. If everthing would have gone according to plan, DiBiase would have won the WWF championship and Savage would have regained the Intercontinental belt. In fact, DiBiase was going to have the WWF championship at least until SummerSlam that year.
-
@Sargebri Where did you read that? I would love to have seen DiBiase as a heel champ.
-
lol @ Ted Dibiase's old theme.and he has no Virgil by his side and he is a face.
-
@geodeuce I don't know. In fact, this is the first I've heard of it.
This is surreal to see. Babyface Ted DiBiase fighting The One Man Gang! And his theme song is "Born In The U.S.A." by Bruce Springsteen!? It's like I've stepped into another dimension. Like it's the Twilight Zone or something!
I'm guessing this was back in January 1987, since both guys were in the WWF by November of that year.

This is UWF, Jim Ross and Michael Hayes on commentary. DiBiase had no gimmick at that point, didn't need one, he was one of the best wresters in the world at this point.
