What a lot of drama over summat and nowt!!! Couldn't someone have gone in in a little boat, got the people out then thought about towing / ballasting the stuck one?
Modern time / money wasting health and bleedin' safety probably. Harumph!

Glad they got out okay. Wow that canal water a murky brown color. Now I know why they say not to go swimming in the canals (I wouldn't eat the fish caught in them either!)

yes a bit OTT - we got stuck in there in the early 1970's (boat trapped under the subsided roof) and more or less had to get ourselves out
