@carpeinfinitum Can i recommend Brett Anderson and of course the sublime Morrissey ? Not such smooth voices but great lyrics and vocal performances.Yes Scott is a god amongst men you are right - awesome !!!!! Also great are The Lilac Time. Stephen Duffy is a genius and much overlooked - great pop songs.

The album this song was off was class - Fin De Siecle I think? I had it years ago, whole thing was enjoyable from start to finish.

I just love his clever use of language in all his weird and wonderful songs, but his voice also has great depth and is so smooth. Great live version.

@carpeinfinitum You should try Owen Pallett aka Final Fantasy. Or if you're looking for majestic voice and stunning arrangements dig stuff by Scott Walker.
