Now even Ralph Nader is attacking Toyota. Ford released a technical service bulletin for its Fusion and Milan hybrids over a potential braking issue. All that and more, plus a preview of this weeks Autoline Detroit about just how complicated it could be for any automaker to track down electronic glitches in a car.

  • ok, chrysler is gone- i dont care, im just sorry about jeep. gm has rebuilt itself impressively, dont you think? thier new cars look good. ford hasa good model lineup, competitive cars and prices and quality. my svt raptor has no japanese match, does it? ford is making billions and gm is paying back its bailouts

  • well, were just gona have sit back and wait and see what happens. cause we can go on and on about this and get no where. so, lets just wait and see what happens then

  • ford has not gone bankrupt. the recalls have cost toyota 2 billion, effectively wiping out thier last profits. ford made 1 billion last 1/4, and more this year

  • toyota hasnt gone backrupt, not like the american car companies, so, they are better, still. cant argue with facts.

  • fords are ahead of the japs, and gms newest cars are also ahead of the japs. at this point, tata is ahead of toyota. american cars are back, so accepto this and move on in a nice new flex. behind toyota, you work for them or something? kamikazee carz!

  • american cars were here longer than japanese cars, and yet they still are behind toyota.

  • @JUKIO01 stop being a toyota loving troll. they just lost 2 BILLION dollars and thousands of potetial customers. this is hurting toyotas image and reputation in a way they have never delt with before. american cars have been on the road twice as long as japanese cars, and are safer in a * ratings than most comparable jap pos you can buy. american cars get better gas mileage, fords have better quality, are cheaper and dont send all our money to asia. usa make the cars now, japan came and is gone

  • @stanbernadino hey, cut them some slack, toyotas dont accelerate to 120. they accelerato to 102 where they run out of puff

  • I agree with you about car companies making good and bad cars. The whole import vs domestic thing is overly simplistic. As for the 85% Toyota Sienna American content, this comes from NHTSA. I can't give you the link here but google "AALA2008 Percentages.XLS" and you will find it. The Sienna is the secondmost American vehicle in the list.

  • I'd like to know where you got that 85% figure, because as far as I know Toyota imports a lot more of their parts than the big 3 on average. Also, I'm a GM guy and I drove a new Nissan Altima that I really liked recently and I'm a big fan of the Toyota Land Cruiser and Sequoia. Most car companies make some good and some bad cars.
