Dave Liebman approaches life with an intensity few people can muster. A saxophonist and educator who travels nearly 24/7, Lieb arrived with Elvin and Miles and now crisscrosses the planet playing gigs and teaching. His mission is simple, create uncompromising music, and empower others to do the same.

  • Why the hell do you compare any real jazz musician to kenny G? He doent play jazz man, hes like, smooth jazz. incomparable to the real stuff. He shouldnt even be brought up in the real world of jazz

  • great post!! dave liebmans playing is why many people either love or hate modern jazz. :)

  • @JazzVideoGuy Its good to be a bit wierd!

  • Fabulous!!!!!Thanks so much for posting it!! All the best, my firend Bret!!

  • Wow, some comments. Some people like to connect the dots but these dots are always moving and it's hard get a hold of them. It's just jazz....just sound, feelings and virtuoso....textures. Not easy to listen to for the faint of heart.

  • @Bosphorus92 What are you talking about? This isn't even CLOSE to outside jazz. There are plenty of non-musicians that like very complex or extreme music, for what it's worth. Get out of 1945, and at least enter the Sixties, for crying out loud.

  • @1979saxman It sounds nothing like that to me. It sounds exactly as it's supposed to sound.

  • @fighterdude83 i mean cannon ball's sound on the alto

  • @PDC50 .."they're full of malice, and all they want to do is show you up, and any old way will do as long as it's different from the way you played it before. So you get all them weird chords which don't mean nothing, and first people get curious about it just because it's new, but soon they get tired of it because it's really no good and you got no melody to remember and no beat to dance to. So they're all poor again and nobody is working, and that's what that modern malice done for you"
