Adobe Illustrator uses clipping masks to crop content. Sometimes the hidden content outside of the clipping mask gets in the way of selecting objects beneath the clipped object.

  • Did they fix this in CS4?

  • To be honest I am not sure. I am still on CS4. I find myself locking layers a lot so that hidden elements don't get in the way.

  • Sorry, this is my first YouTube post. What I am trying to do here is demonstrate areas that need significant improvement and hopefully garner enough support to get Adobe to improve it's product. Adobe is now a monopoly in the publishing industry. Monopolies lack innovation, are arrogant with their customers and overcharge for their products. Personally, I have already experienced two out of three of these shortcomings.

  • Hi ishiiboy, I really like the way you show your movie but in this one you only told us a problem. I would like to see how can you "crop" the circle in Illustrator to avoid this annoying giant bounding box everywhere.
