The impacts of the Global Financial Crises are being felt by all workforces across Australia. In Chandler Macleods "71% of employees are looking to change jobs in early 2010" Post GFC Talent Study Report Keeping and Eye on the Talent Horizon released in January 2010, an astounding 71% of respondents indicated they were looking to change jobs in the first 3-6 months of 2010.
63% indicated they intended to seek new roles outside of their current industries and/or specialties. A number of motivators to move jobs included disenchantment with their employers, loss of faith in the leadership, limited career opportunities and a disjointed culture.
Project Phoenix has been designed to assist leaders address these and other workforce challenges, through a series of tangible solutions that will result in the development and implementation of a competitive client focused workforce and a superior level of competitive advantage.
No organisation is immune to the workforce challenges that lie ahead. The focus for 2010 needs to be on assessing the skills you need to gear up for and beyond the recovery; what skills you currently have; and what talent you need to attract. Once you have it, you need to retain it. Employees are feeling disenchanted by their treatment during the downturn and may very well be positioning themselves to move; organisations need to be prepared.
