Get a Nine 'Join the Party' showbag at the 1984 Brisbane Ekka - or a channel 9 25th 'silver anniversary' slouch hat. Maybe the helicopter cap!

**Seven's 'PM Magazine' at 5.30pm - shown in 1984....
**Nine's Perfect Balance promo - shown in 1986.....

  • OMG, what ever happened to 'Gibbo'!?!

  • I want the Cyril the snake hand puppet and Gibbo munchies!

  • Can anybody upload one that is just "1984"?

  • Definitely 1986 - this version of "Love You Brisbane" was only used that year. Also, Nev was reading news in 1984/85 whilst Frank Warrick was at QTQ. When Frank returned to BTQ in 1986, this programme was developed as there were too many on air roles in news presenting at BTQ.

  • Thanks but I do think the PM Magazine was around 1984 given the shot of Brisbane showing no Riverside Centre and no Comalco House - just the gold AMP Tower. LYB went for a number of years - with "Its Happening Here" finishing off that era. Cheers

  • PM Magazine was 1986. It changed from the name "7pm".

  • The "Perfect Balance" was 1986. The "Love you Brisbane" was also 1986. It's happening here was 1987 only.

  • Or could it be from when Brisbane (unsuccessfully) bidded for the 1992 Olympic Games... Imagine, the 1982 Commonwealth Games, Expo 88, and the 1992 Olympics in one decade... What could have been...

  • Yes They were the best, aussiebeachut!!!! Ahhhh long live tomato Red Seal chips.

  • Also - note the city scape within the BTQ clip - it is without the Brisbane Riverside Centre, only the gold AMP Tower dominated the skyline. The Riverside Centre opened circa 1986. How Brisbane has changed.....
