The Urban Services YMCA Invites You to Celebrate

YMCA Healthy Kids Day® on Saturday, April 17th, 2010

WHAT: YMCA Healthy Kids Day (HKD) is a fun family event that celebrates the importance
of being active and physically fit. The event will introduce kids and families to a
spectrum of YMCA program offerings and activities that strengthen the mind, body
and spirit. All HKD activities and food are free and open to the public.
Urban Services YMCA (along with hundreds of YMCAs across the nation) will
sponsor HKD activities that include: family games, healthy food and cooking
demonstrations, information fairs, health organization booths and more. The event
will draw kids and families away from the TV so they can physically interact with
one another. The day is designed to show kids that physical activity is fun and to
educate parents about health related resources available in their community.
Our unique twist to this grand event however is the Urban Services 1st
Annual Healthy Kids, Wellness Walk. It is our hope to raise $25,000
towards the efforts of providing quality youth development programming to
uphold the vision and mission of the Urban Services YMCA.
