I seen this year formula hybrid tests and they were impressive, the class1E all electric can do the 0-75m acceleration in 4,2s reaching some 120kph or more. And on the autocross circuit they were scaringly fast in direction changes, hard braking and accelerating again.
75 meter in 4-6 seconds. The winner last year was 6.02 seconds in the rain. Assuming dry weather traction, it's quite possible to get in the sub 4 second range, much faster than the pure gas versions.
I saw this on the Green network, or whatever channel it is called. They were talking about it being faster than a gas-powered go kart, making it sound like an electric go kart. When I saw it was an FSAE car I couldn't help but laugh. To think that grown men riding suspensionless death traps consider themselves competition for SAE cars just cracks me up. Of course, that's just the difference between people that just race, and people that build a car frame-up and race it.

@zchris87v They are not death traps, and they do have suspension.

So 60 mph go-carts are any less of a death trap than 170mph cars?
