I've rebalanced aerospace fighters, they now handle all mission types as intended.
In the game they will be handled like reinforcements. Both sides will be able to call in their aerospace fighters at any time to either perform strike or bombing missions, or to act as air defence.
The planes will take some time to arrive depending on their max safe thrust, and will be able to hang around until their fuel gets low. At that time they will head off back to base.
I've also made some helicopter gunships behave in the same way. This takes advantage of an optional rule in Strategic operations which allows VTOLs to make bombing and strafe attacks, as if they were aerospace fighters operating on a ground map.
All aerospace fighters and VTOLs moving in this way are easier to hit, based on the rules of the board game. I'm guessing that it's because their more straight forward movement profile makes it easier to predict their movements.
