  • What a fun movie--great performance by Lana Turner. She never gave a bad performance ever! Classic old time actress. This movie is typical 50s and fun. Thanks for this post. Don't ever take it away.

  • Terrific movie. I have waited many years to see this movie. I would love to watch 'Peyton Place' the tv series. It must have been in 1964 or early 1965 I remember my mother watching Peyton place the tv series, and she would allow me to stay up and lay on the sofa with her My brothers were jealous that I was allowed to stay up with mom. I did't have to go to bed as early as they did ,cause I hadn't yet started attending school. That ended though in the fall of 65 when I statrted school.

  • Actually, it was a little worse than that. It was considered an immoral book, trashy and in the venue of Lady Chatterly's Lover. Of course when the movie was released and then the TV series with newcomers Ryan ONeal, Mia Farrow and Nick Nolte, etc, everyone could not wait to see it and did. Thanks for posting.

  • It has fallen out of fashion since "Dallas", "Melrose Place" et al. but for the longest time after this film, "Peyton Place" was a colloquialism used to refer to any place of melodrama, particularly of a scandalous kind. Example: "That high school is a real Peyton Place." Much as one refered to certain perfect suburban women as "Stepford Wives."

  • No entiendo nada, soy Española, y si estubiera en español , pues opinaria.El libro es estupendo.

  • My mom always said where I currently live is like Peyton Place. Full of never ending drama.

  • I was born in 1972 and remeber my mom use to talk about the soap. I was grown when I first saw this movie and I've loved it ever since. Even if there are no black people in it, I still like it.

  • I've been watching this, WSS, 7Bf7B, and scenes from Russ Tamblyn's other movies here and I'm so amazed at his versatility. He's so different in many of them.

  • good for her but what's her name?

  • I was 9 yrs. old when I first saw this movie. I thought Norman was so cute I told my parents I was going to marry him when I grow up. Of course, it was impossible, but I still love this movie. Thanks so much for posting it!
