http://salcostello.blogspot.com/ The chairman of TxDOT on Tuesday angered a key senator from Dallas -- and possibly the entire Senate -- when he ignored a request by the senator for a meeting to discuss the growing number of toll roads in Texas and other volatile highway issues.
Senate Transportation Committee Chairman John Carona paid an unusual visit to a meeting of the House Transportation Committee, where highway commission Chairman Ric Williamson was testifying about road projects around the state.
Sitting with the House panel, Mr. Carona was asked if he had any questions for Mr. Williamson, and Carona said he only wanted to know when he could meet with Williamson after trying unsuccessfully to arrange a meeting for the past week and a half.

Well the elected state representative and chairman of the transportation committee does have a right to demand that state agency employees meet with him. That's his job, to demand when these appointed beaurocrats dodge accountability when first "requested". I'm glad the SoB is dead. I'm tired of the corruption in TxDOT and DPS on both toll roads and this "driver responsibility surcharge".
a senator was clearing his whole week to get a meeting with a commisioner and he couldn't commit??? His name was Rick Williams and yes he died aroud Christmas. Sorry for his family's loss but probably the best thing for TX drivers.
