Smoke gets in your Eyes - Carlings 1996
This beautiful tune is set in with a well timed trumpet melody by Hans Carling. The backing shows wonderfully placed trombone harmony lines by Gunhild and well felt clarinet work with some kind of Ed Hall feel. After a keychange Gunhild then takes the vocal. Max on clarinet does some superb solo work after which the full band finishes this classic evergreen.
Oh this is just lovely - that horn intro.....

I'm glad you found her. I knew her from when she was 9 and fortunately have most of her output on film.

How does a 21 year old Swedish girl sound just like Billie Holiday?
