25 November 2010, one month to go until "The big Day." and Hatman muses on the absurdity or Christmas Xcess in the light of the Credit Crunch and serious problems being faced by Third World countries like Pakistan and Haiti. Much of Britain is in the grip of an artic freeze and the record levels of snow, ice and sub-zero temperatures, far from fulfilling the nastalga of a White Christmas have plunged the country into transport chaos; and has done little to bolster the flagging economy throught retail sales. In any case, many of the things that will be purchased over te next month will be unecessary expence.
My husband slowly taught me that Christmas isn't about money to him, and what gifts he gets, it is about being thankful for the people in your life, and the things you do have. I am always thankful for owning our own house outright, as not many can say that. Also Christmas to us is a time to say thanks to people who have helped us or been nice to us. Even though we are not religous, we always try to give a small gift to our loved ones, and we don't expect anything back! :)

Isn't it sweet? They tell us we need to pay outrageous energy bills because of Global Warming, (Co2- Carbon tax) and then they let us all freeze our asses off as temperatures PLUMMET.
And now they are calling it "climate change" and we need to prevent that by paying them outrageous sums to stay warm. Hmm? Something's wrong with their story.
