In all actuality the roots back in the day had a white bassist jam with them for a bit called Josh "the rubber band man" before they added Hub. So yes owen biddle is white the had white members way back the day day which also included Scott Storch who played keys for them before Kamal was in the band. So there is deff no white/black issue at all. The roots make great music and their fans are attracted to great music.

this isn't a white-black issue.. this is real recognizing real. race needs to be left out of it. i realize the roots are the most talented group living as do many people white and black. i went to a roots concert recently and it was about 50/50 and it was a beautiful thing. keep making real music and real people will appreciate it regardless of race.
