@Technoobzdotcom Try the following in terminal. sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx, sudo apt-get install nvidia-settings, sudo apt-get install nvidia-xconfig, REBOOT, sudo nvidia-xconfig, LOGOUT, sudo nvidia-settings

I've been wanting to use this version but i can't seem to get my Nvidia Graphics card to work at all...so until than I'll have to stay on a 6 month release

@Linux4UnMe - I forgot to mention I run Mint XFCE. Gnome is probobly more modularized.
Hi, I run debian6.03 on an older computer and have pretty much the same problems with symantic , you have to give your root password and then ;;nothing happens i can't update !! i am new to linux so i don't know anything of commands, sudo and stuff .shoud i re-install ? or wait for the next debian thanks

hhmmmm. strange... I can't remember now if i had that problem or not LoL
but try opening a terminal, "su" password then "aptitude update"
That will update your system... try synaptic next time to see if it is working again I guess

I run Debian testing on a few of my computers and it's working really well ^_- As far as Debian Mint I think it's great idea :) Perhaps I will try the next version of Debian Mint when the bugs are worked out. Thank you for sharing the "in detail" problems that you had. Very good review mate :) I'm sure your helping allot of people ^_-

Linux Mint is really cool, although I prefer to have an option to actually remove Firefox without also removing "Linux Mint artwork" ...
LMDE would be cool as well, but it kinda crashed after upgrading.
