hi... I live in los angeles. I was wondering if none of the community colleges in my area offer this major what can I do to get my two year degree? Should I complete whatever course work ad then transfer to Loma Linda University and finish there? Or does it mean I cant go into the career field I want before I try for medical school

Wow, I am a lab tech and this is basically what we do all day. There are different areas of the lab (Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, etc) that we rotate to (if you're a generalist) so it's some variety. This is a great video. Thanks

I always wondered what a day in the lab would be like. It suits me well. I like working with my hands and like peacful and quiet place to work. I will be starting clinical lab science degree this fall!!
Degree Options:
Associate in Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Technician is usually a two year undertaking.
Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology is a 4 year degree.
Often MLT's and MT are payed near the same rate since most human resources don't differentiate the pay scale.

Before you get a degree in science or biology or chemistry. The law requires a certain standard in health care, because of that it would be in your best interest to consider a career in Medical Technology. You will be responsible for biological testing of human fluid and organs. You must be registered by certification. There are a required set of college courses that must be mastered. See American Society of Clinical Pathologist.
