Added the bridge pickup. So I made this rockin blues style tune for the demo.
The tune is based on a Colin James song.
I had run out of my power at the last 2 or 3 chorus . And finally my nail was broken!! lol.

The recording data :
The guitars - Oahu amp head - Axetrak - AMEK9098DMA - RME Fireface800
The bass - Trident 4T channel strip -RME
The brass section : Kick-Ass Brass
The piano : Garageband instruments
The drums : EZ drummer

WAVES API EQ were used for The brass and the drums.
No effects except reverb for the guitars.

  • Nice demo, could you tell me the name of this tune

  • @zifirblues Hi,Thanks. This song is based on Collin James' "Let's Shout". Very cool Jumpin' Blues. Please check it out.

  • Hi!GOMENTE!!!

I was wondering, does these CC pickups(both Neck and Bridge)sounds like a typical Tele sound? or does it have some more feel of P90s? and how does the bridge sounds like with distortion?

Thanks, looking forward for your reply!!=]

    Cheers,

    Harold

  • @haroldlihk Hi,thank you for watching. Yes,I think CC Neck PU is close to P90. But it has different peak and dip from P90. Especially at Hi-mid to Lo-mid. A little bit sounds like phase-out sound. Those peak and dip realize the unique sounds like hollow body. About the bridgePU, I think it was designed for good combination with Neck PU. A little bit fat but not so unique itself. Thanks.

  • @GOMENTE Thanks for the link to the photos. That clears everything up. Looks like your tech routed the exact shape of the pickup's base. The tele that I currently have my CCs installed in has more of a soap sized P-90 route. They hole around the pickups doesn't look too bad at all. I may end up doing that also. Thanks again.

  • @iamhenderson Hi. Yes, It is a pentagonal hole that is almost just fitting the pickup.

There are very few margins around it (maybe only 1-2mm)

But the hole has spaces for screw.

If you want to see the large photo of this guitar, visit

    gallery.me.com/gomente#gallery

And find it in an album named Guitars. The photo is downloadable.

So you can get the original sized photo.

    Thanks

  • @GOMENTE

Thx for the quick reply! I bought a perspex routing template when I got the pickups so thanks but no need. Is there a hole that is just the size of the magnet plate around the pickup? It's hard to tell, it kind of looks like there is but it could be a shadow. Thanks for the advice anyway!

  • @iamhenderson Sorry my reply was posted as new comment...See another comment on this page.

  • Hi. Thank you for watching the video.

I just asked a repair man to install it so I don't know the details how he did it.

But I think the dimensions were based on Lollar's template. I can tell you the dimensions for the routings if you send me your email address on Private Message.

When I tried to install it,I thought of making another pickguard. But seeing the result,I thought it was not so bad and decided that no pickguard was the best :-)

    Thanks
