You said it man! It's like people can't understand that more diesel means more heat, and heat destroys cylinder-heads and pistons. It's true that many high power diesels smoke but that's because their fuel delivery is not tuned right, black smoke is nothing but un-burnt fuel going to waste and unnecessarily raising the exhaust temperature. There can be some smoke for a second or two while the turbo gets the boost up but then it should clear up, there is no reason for black clouds.
