You know what is killing PC gaming? Its not the supposedly "rampant" piracy(although I will admit it is a factor). The biggest reason there has been such a steady decline in PC game sales is that game designers are making games that can only be run on computers that are no more than a few years old and that have decently powerful video cards that constantly need to be upgraded to play the latest games. Most people can't afford the latest and greatest hardware&don't want to spend hundreds everyyr

First off, piracy IS a major factor. thousands of people are downloading popular games every moment of every day and as we speak. People pay $300+ every couples years for their consoles and whatever perpetuals they buy. A mid-high end graphics card costs about the same. This GTX i bought a year ago was already kicking xbox360s ass. I think the mistake people make is that they wont spend more than $100 on a gfx card, and that wont get you very far. Thats like buying a ps2 it already well obsolete

yeah i used fraps, and yes I have a soundcard. At the time it was a soundblaster audigy. I hear some distortion in this vid Im not sure where it came from. Like i said I was using vista and the crappy drivers.

this is dual, but this was a long ways back when the drivers were pretty crappy and vista was just released. This was on windows vista. There wasnt that great of a boost with 2. So i would say this is about what youll get on 1 8800 as of today. what kind of cpu do yuo have

Only you need more than that $300 graphics card don't you. You need the dual core proc. you need the 2gigs ram, the os, hdd's, etc. which overall makes gaming on the PC much more expensive, esp. considering that you have get a new PC almost as often as you would get a new console. Piracy is a big deal, but NOT the biggest deal. Look at Sins of a Solar Empire. Very successful,NO copy protection. But you don't need a super comp to run it so they can sell it to more people.

pity one isnt really enough for me :P i wanted a solid 60 fps or above and one isnt enough im not sure if sli would even be worth it at the stupidly low res of 1440x900 that im running on. Still lovley to actually be able to play it now :)

fraps taks like 1/2 of your fps, so that alone was good to show

waste of money, think what u want, but people like him are PC enthusiest and gamers. we like to have the best of everything. and by the way, PC's are wayy better then any stupid console. a 7600 GT will easily out perform a PS2, the ps3 would take an 8600 GTS. nvm an 8800GTX that would kick any stupid console multiplied by 5
