Hello people of the intertubes, I've made this video to show my car to a few people that have wanted to see it in action but haven't seen it yet due to the coilpack (don't wanna drive it too much) so here is the car running and giving some juice. Sorry for the shaky camera and voicework, I'm not much of a director. The swap was helped planned and executed by Josh at Hi-Rev Performance, couldn't be happier with the work and service. Highly recommended.

Car specs:
JDM CA18DET Swap
T25 SR20DET Turbo
HKS SSQV Blow Off Valve
3 Inch Megan Racing Exhaust, Down pipe, Test pipe, etc.
255 Fuel Pump
Front Mount Intercooler
Vibrant Filter/Cold Air Intake
Autometer Boost Gauge
B&M Short Throw Shifter
ACT Stage II Clutch

I'm building the car mainly for drifting next summer as I've been spectating drifting since 2005 and have wanted to drive ever since, finally sometime in 2010 I'll be able to start.

Sorry for not revving the car much higher, like I said the coilpack is a bit off so once I get that replaced I'll hopefully have some more fun videos like burn-outs and higher revs. Future plans include coilovers, GTS-T bucket seats, new steering wheel, cleaned up interior and better brakes.

  • turbo from the sr is a T28 not t25 and the stock ca18det turbo is T25.

  • @ImusGremus Only on SRs that came from an S15. Older SRs came with a T25, CA18DET came with a slightly smaller housed version of a T25 that was only good for 10Lbs of boost.

  • Did different models of SRs come with different sized turbine housings then? To be honest the whole thing had me confused for a while and I thought I figured it out. Now you're messing with my head again.. :)

  • BC, great place to be im in bc and have a 240 that i'm doing the ca swap into. did you swap the whole harness or what? mine comes with a wiring harness aswell

  • @tcnlol Harness came with the swap, but it was a KA24E harness re-cut. I didn't do it though.

  • @md452006 The harness came with the engine. :)

    However I've been digging around my car lately and finding more and more electrical gremlins so I might need to re-wire it.

  • @Lupich CA had a smaller T25 (some call it T23 for reference) and S13 SR20 (aka redtop) came with T25G while S14 SR20 (blacktop) and S15 SR20 (sloped valvecover) came with T28. Some of those T28's were dual ball bearing.

    Hope this helps.

  • @Lupich Yes the S15 had a GT28R turbo on its SR20det the S14 s14a and 180sx redtop sr20det came with t28 and there was a SR20DET that came in Nissan GTIR Sunny that was t28bb i think it was a t28bb or maybe something else but it had ballbearings, I got a ca18det with t28 that came from s14a and my gf has a s15 that has gt28r :P

  • @Lupich The s15 came with a GT28R turbo and other SR20DET's came with t28 and non of them came with t25. The t25 was in CA18DET.

  • The CA always remind me of a mini RB, I got a friend that bought a S13 coupe with a CA18DET good little engines.
