Having an ultra-portable notebook has always meant sacrificing storage -- until now. Unlike other slim notebooks the Samsung Series 5 ULTRA has a huge amount of space for your files and an integrated Optical Disk Drive (ODD). Its ultra large capacity HDD can store up to 1 TB of data, so can always enjoy your favorite music, pictures and movies.
* SSD models are also available.

Carrying a heavy notebook is always a big burden, especially for professionals who are always on the road. The Samsung Series 5 ULTRA is amazingly portable and perfectly designed for a mobile life. Because it's remarkably thin and light it's easy to take it with you anytime and anywhere -- so you'll always have your own office.

You can work and play even more efficiently with the blazingly fast performance of the Samsung Series 5 ULTRA. With Fast Boot the computer boots-up in just 20 seconds while Fast Start wakes from sleep in 2 seconds. Plus Fast Browsing makes frequently viewed web pages run 2x faster.

* Speed will vary depending on the configuration, applications used and wireless settings.
* Boot-up time is based on HDD models.

  • does it have a back-lit keyboard? Do you plan to use the screen technology used for other Series as well (15"screen in a 14" chasis and so on)? What about a magnet power plug that prevents damage? This little options hold me back from an instant purchase. Appreciate the matte screen.

  • I heard this has a dedicated graphics card? is it true???

  • @corbraz This model is set to have the option of a dedicated graphics card. Please check with your local Samsung.com portal and retailers for details about the options available in your area as they are confirmed!

  • @SamsungNotebook whats so bad about the batteries showing off?

  • @SeaBatch Hi SeaBatch, can you be more specific about your question? As noted in the video, the featured SERIES 5 ULTRA 14" can run on battery power for up to 6.5 hours (depending on usage), and the battery is rated for up to 1500 charges, which is 5x more than conventional notebook batteries.

  • @corbraz in singapore they r selling it for SG$1488(~US$1185) with a radeon hd 7550. im pretty sure ill be getting one soon

  • @tristynatelier I agree with you to a certain extent, apple's minimalism design is simple and sleek but you have to consider the designers of the other companies, its not an easy job. I'm not any of those types you just listed, i have a macbook pro and a samsung series 7 chronos, i find both of them very different. But i really agree with you with the HP thing.

  • @WLAFEGA No there not... :p

  • @corbraz Okay, so you are admitting today's laptops lack originality. And that's because Apple has gone too far with their minimalism. But does that justify "not even trying"? Look at HP and Samsung products. Samsung's keyboard is EXACTLY the same from that of Apple's and Hp's just making Macbook Pro. Just in case you are just being a Samsung fanboy or anti-apple or something, I am actually using both this laptop and a Macbook Air.

  • @tristynatelier How different can Laptops look these days?? What do you want? like spikes and circular shaped laptops?

  • Macbooks look as a octuagenary in front of ultrabooks...

  • it's funny how today's laptop makers are not even trying to look differently from macbooks. i'm not only talking about samsung, but companies like hp too
