This Is Lawrence - Scholar Athletes

The Lawrence Hockey Team hosts the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association quarterfinal playoff series with Northland College on Friday night and Saturday afternoon at the Appleton Family Ice Center. The winner advances to the Harris Cup Four at Adrian College on March 5-6.

If you're lucky enough to attend the games this weekend, look for the player wearing the Vikings' jersey with the number 6 on it. This is hard-charging forward Ben DiMarco '12, a recent recipient of the Lawrence Scholars in Business Scholarship.

The Lawrence Scholars in Business program, now in its third year, helps Lawrence undergraduates prepare to compete for attractive entry-level positions across an array of industries. Students compete for these scholarships based upon their academic achievement and their leadership on campus.

The scholarship funds are used to subsidize internships, pay for travel to explore career opportunities, and continuing professional education. To be selected as a Scholar reflects a commitment to academic excellence and an ambition to make a difference in the world through a business-related career.
