jonas *daughter* story chapter 55

recap: kev met aye. nick met becca. joe & court have decided to spend more time with nat. joe wants to mend fences with nat after realising that he's been neglecting her.

joe drives home and walks in. he sets his keys and coat down and notices a pair of legs dangling from the arm rest of the couch. he laughed and walked over. he just smiled at his daughter peacefully asleep. he walked up to her face and kneeled down in front of her. he gently strokes her forehead as she fidgets and slowly awakens.

me: *opens eyes slowly*
j: *smiles* hey nat.
me: *just looks at him*
j: have you been sleeping all day? are you feeling ok?
me: *sits up* why do you care now?
j: *a little hurt* nat i'm sorry. i didnt realise i was pushing you aside. it's just this is all new to me you know?
me: *sighs* dad i know. i know this is a huge deal for you. and i'm happy for you. but, i just never get to see you anymore.
j: i know sweety. i'm really sorry.
me: i dont wanna lose my dad.
j: oh honey. you wont.
me: i already half did. these past 3 weeks has been like you and courtney 24/7. it's like maybe you guys got closer but we drifted a little.
j: *strokes her head* i know you did such a huge thing for me by getting courtney to come with us and i'm sorry i didnt pay as much attention to you as i should have. but i really wanna change that now.
me: what do you mean?
j: courtney was telling me how she really wants to be a part of your life.
me: really?
j: yea. she cares about nat. really.
me: *smiles*
j: so, instead of just us 2, it's gonna be us 3.
me: 3?
j: including you.
me: *smiles* just us 3?
j: yea.
me: *hugs him*

*that friday night - joe, court and nat were going out to dinner* *nat's pov*
finally. the day has arrived. today will be the official day that me, courtney and my dad hang out. like a real family. or at least sth close to it. i was so excited. since we'll all be out. dad asked uncle nick to come "house-sit". i laughed at that. i mean, the house is gonna be fine. there's nobody here to even do ath to it. whatever. my dad's in charge so...

j: dont burn down the place.
n: god i should be telling you that.
j: *sticks tongue out*
c: real mature joe.
j: thank you.
me: *rolls eyes* let's go!
all3: *leave*
n: *sighs & watches tv*
after a while there's a ring at the door
n: *answers it* hey freak.
r(rebecca): hey moron.
n: what are you doing here?
r: *mocking* hey i have the rights to be here.
n: *rolls eyes* what do you want?
r: courtney left her purse here. she wanted me to get it.
n: really?
r: *rolls eyes* really.
n: you sure you just dont want a reason to come in here when i'm all alone. by myself.
r: are you saying you want me to come in when you're all alone?
n: are you saying you want to come in? when i'm alone?
r: no. that'd be more you.
n: says who?
r: says the look in your eyes.
n: so you're looking into my eyes?
r: ~how could i not? they're amazing.~ *hides a smie* just let me get the purse bird brain!
n: fine. chill crazy.
r: *rolls eyes & walks in*
n: *rolls eyes*
r: *finds the purse & walks to the door* thanks idiot.
n: no problem psycho. say hi to the ppl in the insitution for me.
r: whatever.
n: back at ya.
r: so what's on your agenda for the night?
n: nth that includes you.
r: that hurts.
n: sorry.
r: *giggles* i was joking nick.
n: wow. that's a first.
r: what?
n: you calling me nick and actually smiling.
r: well, dont get used to it air head.
n: *laughs*
r: i just insulted you and your laughing?
n: i'm pretty sure that was half hearted.
r: you're pretty smart.
n: thanks.
silence........
r: well, i'll be heading home then. later.
n: *nods*
r: *walking away*
n: *calls after her* hey rebecca?!
r: *turns* yea?
n: i'm just gonna watch a movie or sth. alone. if you're not busy or ath, you could join me.
r: *slowly walks up to him* so you DO want me come in when you're alone.
n: well, i, urm..........
r: so you wanna be around me huh?
n: well............do you?
r: i would have walked away if i didnt. now i wouldnt i? *smiles & walks in*
n: *smiles & walks in after her*
