Con Artist Bob Morey Takes $70,000 From His Radio Man

"dr" Robert Morey, who has defrauded numerous Christians in the past (see "saintaugustinian" blogspot for documentation), has added yet another Christian victim to his list. Mike Stephens, who worked for Morey as both an unpaid volunteer & a paid staff member, produced Morey's radio shows "Truth Seekers" & "Bob Morey Live" on & off for approximately 11 years. Morey talked Mike into letting him "invest" $70,000 of Mike's family money but alas Morey only returned $500 of the "investment." Morey later fired Mike overnight for pointing out activities within Morey's organization which Mike felt were both unethical & illegal. Hank Hanegraaff, director of the Christian Research Institute & host of the "Bible Answer Man" radio show whose founder was Dr Walter Martin who was a frequent guest on the John Ankerberg Show says "Dr" Robert A. Morey of Faith Defenders, Biblical Thought, Faith Community Church (FCC), California Biblical University and Seminary (CBUS), Bob Morey Live, and Doxological Apologetics is dishonest & unscholarly. Hanegraaff's comments come in reference to a report Morey wrote in his national "Researcher" newsletter attacking Gregory A. Boyd, author of the book, "Oneness Pentecostals and the Trinity." Boyd's book was endorsed by Hanegraaff & the CRI staff. In a letter by Dr. Boyd he states, "..."Truth-Seeker Bob [Morey] went after me with a vengence. He was trying to prove Hank Hanegraaff was incompetent in endorsing my book by proving that I was a heretic on the basis of my former book "Trinity and Process". He sent letters around the country telling Christian distributors to stop selling my books because I was (among other things) a process theologian, that I denied the Incarnation, I denied the Trinity!!!, and I was, in short, a closet liberal. His tactics half worked as my book sales dropped significantly. I still get hassaling mail from people about this. Well, to make a long story short, I have never in my life encountered, or even imagined, such blatant malice, deceit, and vile ungodliness -- let alone in someone who taunts himself as a Christian leader. At first I thought this was just an extraordinarily dull person (I had never heard of him before) who couldn't read, who had an extraordinary meglomaniac streak which made him want to be a "scholar." Hence he looked silly. But, as the case wore on, I began to see that the situation was far worse. He 'had' to understand my work enough to know 'how' to distort it. And, I began to see, he had to be lying intentionally to be so consistent and manipulative with them. This man, I finally came to see, WAS EVIL. He's a megalomaniac with a vengence, and so far as I can see, not an ounce of honesty or integrity to curb it with. This man is, in my estimation, very bad for Christianity, and very dangerous." Morey has aways been a liar, just look at his lies about atheists and Muslims. It was only a matter of time until he lied to people in his own church.

People in his church were warned before. They didn't want to look at the evidence.

Morey aside, there isn't much need to lie about atheists or Muslims. They where their error on their sleeves.

Besides that, neither atheists nor Muslims have any principled ground on which to object to lying in the first place; after all, the latter believe in Taquiyya and the former in nothing at all (at least nothing that could account for morality and ethics).

Ousias1 sounds quite philosophical to me. It's interesting, just to update you & others that may read this, that Morey fled California in March 2009 once it became apparent the California Department of Corporations was going to investigate him for securities fraud in the illegal acquisition of his now torn down church building in Irvine, California. "g12er" you have made some good points. Morey has lied about the Muslims, atheists, Christians & others. However, Morey being a reprobate, thief & liar doesn't prove that Islam or Atheism is true. No problem "g12er" because I was actually writing you that kind of reply to make "Ousias1" feel a little better (please see one of his comments where he references to you). I just looked at it as an opportunity to advertise all the Christian apologetics videos that we have up on Yahoo Video/ Google Video & Youtube. Who knows, maybe we'll pick up a few more viewers. Anyway, your points are well made & your clarification is excellent. I just wish people would seriously take your advice.

Morey and his lies aside, Boyd is an open theist. That can't be good! I have read his book on Oneness Pentecostals. I was disturbed by some of the ramifications of his theological ideas on occasion. I am a Trinitarian. Morey has also lumped all preterists together and labeled them heretics. He has done a lot of unscholarly things in the past here on YouTube.

Morey lied about his "earned degree" that is why it was "revoked," use your brain please. Morey is a fraud, check out our Youtube "Morey's Fraudulent Invasion" videos to prove the point. Morey has also perpetrated numerous criminal acts for which we have reported him, notice he doesn't sue us?
