First off, MMO does not immediately point to RPG games, but any game with a mass amount of people online. Second, there are plenty of MMORPG's out there with decent, good, or even great graphics. They also started the development of TESO in 2007 as the first project for ZeniMax Online Studios, where I believe the Creation Engine is being used. The same engine used to make Skyrim, which went into development in 2008. That means we may see graphic quality similar to skyrim, if not a year behind.

Darkfall Online did this. Darkfall Online was DIRECTLY influenced and inspired by oldschool UO. Most of the devs for Darkfall Online were oldschool UO vets, who wished to bring back the glory days to PvP. Darkfall Online did indeed have the most hardcore, adrenaline pumping PvP seen in an MMORPG since oldschool UO. Darkfall Online was shut down though because Aventurine is revamping the whole game engine as "Darkfall Unholy Wars".

It's really sad to see that TES: Online will be a "Theme Park" style MMORPG, when the single player TES games have been "Sandbox" since TES II: Daggerfall. We always assumed that if a TES MMORPG was created, that it would have to be a "Sandbox". Especially considering TES series is so heavily influenced by the single player Ultima series, and THE sandbox MMORPG itself, the exalted grand father of the MMORPG genre, Ultima Online (which is still running to this day, a stunning 15+ years)..

I did not know this, but it really pleases me that this guy used to work with Ultima online, the father of mmo's, the one mmo to rule em all..! Hopefully he will have lot to say to make it more of a traditional mmo that still works to today's standards (newcomers hype sort of?)

I know this is never going to happen. BUT I wish player looting would be brought back in PVP like Ultima Online. That mechanic really brought the emotion in PVP and hands shaking; keyboards flying and yelling after victorys
