  • That's NOT "The Dukes of Dixieland". The "real" Dukes of Dixieland were the Assunto brothers and their Papa Jac. The real guys were much better (and didn't go around stealing names from others!). All in all, not bad jazz.

  • @WhoDatOnTuba My dear Danny, sorry for my bad english, but i think (i'm 75 ears old) that in 1950, this band was very very good, Yes:also now.....but...but...but, the dixieland sound is better in the old band, that in this new group. Anywhere, i love the dixielend sound, just like you! By, Danny, seeyou soon, Massimo 9584

  • My dear Danny Rubio, sorry for my bad english, but i'm a 75 ears old and i remember de original Dukes of Dixieland band in the '50. I say that the "old" musicians of this band, were very very very good. Also today...but, but, but...Thanks and from Massimo .

  • The original Dukes with the Assunto's was much smoother and they seemed to have a "one-ness" that made them unique. This is good music but for me it's the original Dukes every time.

  • personally...greatest band of all time
