The hurricane is at it's worst point right now. Most of our tree's large branches have "evacuated" from the tree onto the ground/our roof, and if you look closely enough you can see the rain actually going around the house in an almost circular motion when it's not headed straight towards us. Every few minutes there is a huge gust of wind coming directly towards us, which is when most of the destruction happens.
Notice the ceiling fans turning... They are turned off. That is soley the wind making the blades turn.
If you look in the neighbors yard you can see a green tarp over a small enclosed area of the yard. That's where they were keeping their dogs, outside, until the hurricane got really bad. That's also where they kept their dogs during Rita & Katrina. Don't worry, we discussed calling the humane society on them.
When I said "I'm gonna stand under this instead of under the tin thing... JUST IN CASE" is because some of the branches that were left were hanging over the tin roof that we were standing under, and also because sometimes when the gusts of wind were strong enough the ceiling fans would sort of jerk up and down, like the roof might have been peeled off.
Towards the end of the video you can hear a bump, which was a branch falling on the roof that we were standing under. When I turned the camera to the right, I captured the branch falling from the roof and onto the deck/into the pool. It also shattered a glass table that had been tied down upside-down there. No other damage was done to the deck or pool, as far as I can tell (as of the day I post this, we haven't cleaned up the yard yet).
