Dave and Eddie with short hair just doesn't look right. That may sound superficial to some, but to a band like Van Halen, who defined 80's rock arguably more than anyone, cutting off the hair means cutting themselves off from the 80's...cutting themselves off from their roots.
They just don't look like who they are supposed to be, and who they are most fondly remembered as.

I love VH but they're one of the sloppiest live bands out there...too much improvisation, sloppy guitar playing, and sloppy vocals...

@pinkroses16 actually, its no longer a rumor. Van Halen officially announced that they're touring next year, and on the Van Halen News Desk, there is a picture that has the date "2.7.12"...that could very well mean that thats the date for the album to be released.
