Inspired by the era of manned space travel, this tune first appeared on Elton John's 1972 album Honky Chateau. It was recorded at Chateau d'Herouville, a 16th century castle outside of Paris converted into a recording studio. When playing this, think about floating weightless, You can't float too far because of the chord to the headphones you're wearing.

  • I use my index, middle, and sometimes thumb.

  • Thank YOU.

  • Tahns... I'm glad that YOU saw it. Paul

  • Thanks. Elton John's band represented the height of live band playing in the 70's. Every element of an Elton John cover band better be superior, starting with Elton! I look foward to looking at your videos. Paul

  • Hi Knob- Thanks for the great feedback...really. I met and interviewed Dee when he played with Spencer Davis at my high school's dance(!!). He was very kind to this then 16 yr. old kid.

  • Thanks

  • fantastic cover i'm gonna copy this such a shame more people havent seen it, it definetly deserves way more views i've just fell in love with this song again recently great work

  • Nice, I was in an Elton John Cover band for a bit. Unfortuately, the caliber of musicians weren't suffient enough for me and I didn't think it could ever be successful, so I quit, but I learned tons of songs on Bass first. They are very nice Bass lines. You can check out my that's why they call it the blues Bass part. BTW, looks like you might have at one time started to emulate Berry Oakley's Tractor Bass.
