Today, on this 2009 Pontiac Vibe, we will be installing Curt hitch part number 12228. Okay, we are underneath the vehicle and we are looking at the drivers side frame rail. As you can see here at the end of the frame , we have got two existing weld nuts. Those are going to provide our two attaching points on the drivers side for our trailer hitch. We will be attaching the hitch to the weld nuts using the 12mm bolts and conical tooth washer. And on the passenger side, we will be using the same two weld nuts and same bolt washer combination. Over here on the passenger side, you will need to lift the hitch up over the exhaust. 0:31

With the fasteners and attachment point on the frame pointed out, we can go ahead and put the hitch up into position. Again, we want to make sure that we go up and over the exhaust here on the passenger side. 0:40

Alright, now we are going to go ahead and go back through and torque the bolts down. You will want to check with the directions to find the appropriate torque rating for each individual bolt. And with all of our bolts torqued down, our installation is complete. This will conclude the installation of part number 12228 on a 2009 Pontiac Vibe. 1:37
