ANN ARBOR -- On Sunday, The Best of the Midwest Showcase at Michigan's Al Glick Field House attracted a pair that expects to make a lot of trips together.
Smith shined at an MSU camp last summer and earned an offer.
Junior prospects Corey Smith and Jarrod Wilson from Akron (Ohio) Buchtel both hold verbal offers from Michigan State and were in attendance Sunday. And as Spartan Tailgate reported last week, it appears Smith, a 6-foot-1, 175-pound wide receiver, and Wilson, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound safety, plan on continuing as teammates after their high school careers come to an end.
Michigan State is one of three schools to offers both members of the Buchtel duo thus far (Illinois and Toledo are the others). Smith also has offers from Akron, Georgia, Kent State, Miami (Ohio) and North Carolina. Wilson also has an offer from Indiana.
And this Sunday, Wilson and Smith will be in back in Michigan, East Lansing specifically, for Michigan State's second junior day.
After the dust had settled inside the Al Glick Field House Spartan Tailgate caught up with Smith and Wilson to get their thoughts on the Michigan State football program.
