  • Alex's playing and sound so fit the time in which it was recorded. This takes me right back to 1982 playing my Atari and looking toward the future.

  • @cbfeeling Wow. That nails it. I had to take a minute away from my work after reading that. Thanks, man!

  • Cool video man! Normally you can barely hear the guitar in the mix.

  • Wow, it's amazing how different the guitar sounds when isolated from the mix. Good stuff

  • @buzzcrushtrendkill - YES!!!!!!!!!! thank you!! TEMPEST!! what a wickedly cool video game!!!

  • @cbfeeling Loved Artari. I think we played Adventure or Space Invaders.

  • I gotta say I like the recent live versions of this song better than the studio version because Alex's guitar gets a much more promanent sound in the mix. It's a shame his guitar was put so far back in the mix in the studio version.

  • @ACELLOFAWARENESS Tempest

  • @cbfeeling - ha!! my brother and i used to have a favorite game at the arcade... shit, now i can't remember the name, but when the Subdivisions video came out and it was shown on there we 'bout shit ourselves... then smoked another doobie!!

  • i love the ringing chord voicing at 0:26 !! Alex is so amazing, it seems like his pick hand never rests, even when the perfect chord is sustaining & sounding perfect, he is constantly grabbing another single note off of it or a full arpeggio of some sort. it's just a whole other level of musicianship. oh, and he is quite a cool character if you ever get a chance to be in the first few rows at an amazing RUSH concert!!!

  • fantastic (just have to learn it now DOH! ;-) although i can do a 1/2 arsed solo attempt :-)

  • Alex Lifeson is my favorite guitar player of all time. Original and expressive, I think Rush's 80's work, Permanent Waves through Hold Your Fire, and even Presto, is among some of the finest music ever recorded. Very unique writing and arrangements.
