  • i respect your view k2rider56 but that young lad aint walter paton. and i will have to say that for someone that young 20 is too much.. first you have a to have a good aerobic base before one does such sprints and someone  that age should not be doing 20 sprints.. sorry but that speaks for its self......5 maybe at 100% but 20 sorry no dont kid yourself.. have a nice day

  • It does heavily depend on the fitness level of the participant. 20 reps in 20-minutes is appropriate for his level of conditioning.

    The boy has been running competitive 5k races for 3 years. He is also running in a trail series where he has ran roughly a 12k on hills covered with rocks and mud.

    As for fast twitch response, his times remained consistent on all 20 reps.

    This workout was well within his realm of conditioning.

  • kid is lightweight and have a low center of gravity, no real danger, bonestructure is more elastic and they are far more durable pound for pound.

  • im sure we all can agree, 20 is to much for that kid no matter what hes done before, he doesnt have a good solid muscle foundation. He doesnt even have the right posture or tight core when he was doing this. He was everywhere.

  • Thats climbing, not uphill sprinting. THe cadence is too slow to have any rewiring effects on the central nervous system in terms of speed and explosive power. If he is training for cross country running or hill running events this workout will pay off, but not a 5k flat.

  • no unless your really out of shape, 20 yard sprints of 20 isnt much for uphill, Walter Paton ran up hills over 500 yards when he was training for football.
